First National Vision Care Survey

Have you completed the first national vision care survey

If you are an insurer, an advisor or consultant, or a plan sponsor or employer, then you can participate in the Canadian Association of Optometrist (CAO) five-minute vision care survey until July 31, 2024.

This is why you should participate:

  1. Your name will be entered into a draw for a $250 gift card
  2. You will be given a complementary pass to the CAO’s Fall webinar to review and discuss the results, and hear from experts in optometry
  3. You will receive a copy of the report which will be broken down into three groups - insurers, advisors and plan sponsors (non-identifying)
  4. You can use the results to evaluate the vision care plans you offer or have available to you.

If you haven’t already heard, vision care is changing. A small number of group plans already have an updated vision care plan, and the first two national insurers to offer changes to vision care plans will be launching them in the near future.

What is an updated vision care plan?

An updated plan is based on current best practices for routine examinations include diagnostics and imaging for the early detection of serious eye diseases. Eye diseases diagnosed early can be treated effectively and relatively cheaply. Undiagnosed and untreated eye diseases will progress to visual impairment and eventually blindness, which significantly impacts patients, plan sponsors and insurers.

Complete the vision care survey today and help create a better understanding of the vision care landscape in Canada.
